Eventually, after 1.5 years from The Long Dark’s Early Access release, on August 1, 2017, the final version of the game was released on the net. The Long Dark game is designed in the style of survival, and the new Wintermute is included in the final version of the game. Raphael van Loep, director of creativity and founder of the Hinterglemm studio, announced that the story of the game will take place in five episodes where the first two episodes will be experienced in the history. Leapro said he was inspired by Cormac McCarthy to develop the game from The Road’s apocalyptic novel. The story of the book is about the relationship between father and son, and the new Wintermute story is about Will Mackenzie and Astrid Greenwood characters who have been struggling with a geographical crisis in Canada. In the early episodes, players take control of Mackenzie’s character. According to the developers, in the following sections, gamers will experience the role of Greenwood. It should be noted that each part of the story will be for five hours.

The Long Dark PC Game CHALLENGES

Several standalone Challenge Modes offer objective-based experiences designed to last 1-3 hours each, such as Whiteout — the race to gather enough supplies to prepare for a monster blizzard. Or Hunted, where you need to escape a murderous Bear. Complete them to unlock Feats that provide long-term gameplay benefits in Survival Mode. Five Challenges exist at launch, with more on the way in future updates.
